Butterflies and Bubble Skirt

♡♡♡
Last week I worked four days.
That's a lot of days at work, for a stay-at-home mum.

So on Saturday, after BB's friend's 1st birthday party, we went to the Queen St Mall (Brisbane City) and splurged.  On this $8 nude-coloured butterfly cami:

Today I was a stay-at-home mum, so I couldn't resist trying it out.

with a white bolero and skirt from Japan (skirt with DIY Bubble hem)

Art was my favorite class in high school.  My teacher was disappointed that I chose not to pursue it after graduating.  Instead I studied science and became a radiographer.  Not very arty.
So, (XX) years down the road, perhaps including my wardrobe items in my blog can be an artistic outlet for me?

My fashion rules are few:

  1. Modesty.  I like to wear clothes that nicely covers my body, doesn't show off my shoulders, thighs etc.  It's also what my church encourages.
  2. Feminine.  I'm a woman, I might as well be.  My husband insists on this one.
  3. Budget. I love bargains, and I can't rationalise expensive clothing.  I'd rather spend my money on helping needy people in Africa etc(or women in Pakistan).  Most of my clothes cost $10~ $30/piece.

So, here we go, Shinobu's *modest* interpretation of cute Japanese fashion.
